American Wigeon Duck

Photography Technique Used

It's always a challenge photographing wildlife especially when your see them in action. Some photographers use the burst mode at about 10 frames a second to capture the moment. I find it much more challenging to try and capture wildlife using one shutter release at a time. You really have to be patient and anticipate when the animal will fly off, flapp its wings or engage in some other kind of behavior.

Here I captured these American Wigeon Ducks just as the flapped. These two photographs are of the same duck and the same "flap".  It's fun!  Give it a try.
